Adam Stuart started this day last year, and as the word's getting around, it's being celebrated widely this year around the world. We're not far too behind either: Support Center is organising LGBT Party on 17 July, and the LGBT Centre has a trick or two, or a surprise or two of its own up its sleeves. Don't miss out on our drag performance this Saturday! When I gave news that Mareike is participating in a NYC LGBT photo exhibition, I also talked a little about the concept, putting it again here.
* Drag king (dragging as a verb) is a bi-gender transgressing daily or occasional performance by women, or as the case may be, by transmen, to show the performative, fluid and metamorphosing nature of gender. Many transmen choose this expression to express who they are. It's helpful if you have read books like Gender Trouble, Female Masculinity by the gurus of female masculinity, Butler and Halberstam. Also, drag is about one's expression of gender identity, not necessarily of sexual orientation, be careful not to confuse gender identity with sexual orientation.

*** International Drag Day - July 16. The LGBT Centre is preparing a nice surprise!
